CAMP DON GROM PACKING LIST:

  1. Mountain bike
  • Must be in proper working condition
  • Must have front and rear brakes (no coaster brakes, disc brakes strongly recommended!) 
  • Must have knobby tires 
  • Gearing for climbing hills (gearing not required for Mini Groms)
    • 24” wheels and up strongly recommended

  1. Helmet & Protective Riding Gear 
  • CSA certified
  • Size fitting to head
  • No cracks or history of hits (helmets have a 5 year expiration) 
    • Knee / Shin pads. 
    • Full Finger Gloves 
  • Glasses and elbow pads strongly recommended

  1. CamelBak (or similar small personal water carrying backpack)
  • Every camper must carry their own water (and lots of it!)
  • CamelBak also doubles as personal pack for other items
  • CamelBak also acts as back protection

  1. Snacks
  •  At least 2 NUT FREE snacks for fuel (eg: MadeGood bars)
  • Must be able to fit in Camelbak
  1. Safety whistle
  • Safety requirement for emergency use only!
  • Must be attached to the outside of CamelBak
  • Check if your CamelBak has a whistle integrated in the strap
  • Please review meaning of “emergency use only” prior to camp
  1. A bell
  • Attached to handlebar within finger reach

  1. Sunscreen
  • Travel size to carry in CamelBak for mid day reapplication
  1. Bug repellant (optional)
  • Travel size to carry in CamelBak for mid day reapplication
  1. Lunch bag
  • Containing NUT FREE healthy lunch for lots of fuel!
  • Small plastic ice pack to help keep it cool

Lunch bags will be delivered to campers in the Don Valley mid day

  1. Appropriate clothing/riding wear
  • Closed toed running shoes/riding shoes
  • Comfortable light clothes you can move in and get dirty
  • Long socks to protect legs from peddle scratches, poison ivy and stinging nettle

11.. Knapsack/personal bag for belongings (remains at Camp Hub)

  • Lunch bag
  • Rain Jacket
  • Extra pair of clothes
  1. Personal medical devices (eg: inhaler/EpiPen)
  • To be carried on body in Camelbak 
  • As confirmed with camp via Medical Forms prior to camp
  1. No technology please! 
  • Let’s disconnect from devices and reconnect with nature.
